It is used with the driving arbor (414-6114-10) and guide bushing (416-6156-32) to clean the seats at the bottom of the injector holes and to cut a new injector seat in the rebuilt area of the casting. The cutter’s depth is controlled using the gauge finger (433-6991-00) and the casting seat cutter gauge (414-6157-29).

• Cleaning Injector Seats: The casting seat cutter (414-6157-28) is used with the driving arbor (414-6114-10) and the appropriate guide bushing (416-6156-32) to clean the seats at the bottom of the injector holes. This process removes any accumulations and corrosion in the seat, particularly in the 90-degree area at the nose of the casting seat.
• Cutting New Injector Seat: After the injector hole has been repaired with a replacement plug, the casting seat cutter (414-6157-28) is used to cut a new injector seat in the rebuilt area.
• Ensuring Correct Seat Depth: The correct seat depth when cutting a new injector seat is achieved by using the gauge finger (433-6991-00) and the casting seat cutter gauge (414-6157-29) with the dimensional pilot at the end of the cutter. An allowance should be made for any future resurfacing of the head by shimming up the seat cutter gauge on the gauge finger accordingly.

Operating Conditions:

• The seat cutter should be operated at approximately 60-80 RPM.
