The Cummins X12 Stainless Steel Injector Sleeve Removal & Installation Kit (450-6158-00) is designed for the efficient removal and installation of injector sleeves in Cummins X12 Diesel, Push Rod - OHV series engines. This complete kit, made in the USA by Irontite Products Inc., includes a range of tools and components to facilitate the entire process.

Note: For early production ISX12 SOHC (single overhead cam) versions our Cummins ISX15 SOHC Kit (450-6157-00) is used instead.

Key Features:

• Comprehensive Tool Set: Includes tools for removing and installing injector sleeves.

• Sleeve Hold Down Clamp (416-6158-12): Prevents the sleeve from turning during tapping.

• Extended Tap (416-6158-60) and Tap Guide Bushing (416-6156-32): Used to tap the injector sleeve for removal, with “EA” Lube (468-9910-08) recommended for lubrication.

• Removal Tool (415-6138-00): Assembled with a threaded puller screw to grip and pull out the old sleeve.

• Casting Cleaning Brush (450-6951-05): Carbon steel brush for cleaning the injector sleeve bore.

• Sleeve Drive-In Tool (416-6158-51): Used with a hammer to drive the new sleeve to the bottom of the casting.

• Roll-In Tool (416-6158-53): Used to roll in the upper end of the injector sleeve.

• “EA” Lube (468-9910-08): Lubricates the tap during the removal process.

• Permatex High Heat Sleeve Retainer/Sealant (468-9640-00): Applied to the new sleeve before installation.

• Additional Items Available but not in this kit: Cummins X12 Stainless Steel injector Sleeve with O-Ring (419-6198-05).

Removal Process:

1. Install the sleeve hold down clamp through the inside of the sleeve to prevent turning.
2. Use the extended tap and tap guide bushing, lubricated with “EA” Lube, to tap the injector sleeve about ⅜” to ½” deep.
3. Insert the assembled sleeve remover and tighten the puller screw until it grips the sleeve tightly.
4. Tighten down the puller nut to pull out the old sleeve.

Installation Process:

1. Clean the inside of the injector sleeve bore using the carbon steel brush.
2. Apply High Heat Sleeve Retainer/Sealant to the flat nose area of the new sleeve.
3. Use the Sleeve Drive-In Tool and a hammer to drive the sleeve (with a new O-Ring) to the bottom of the casting.
4. Use the roll-in tool to roll in the upper end of the injector sleeve, keeping the tool lubricated with quality motor oil.
