Tip Reamer, GM/DD 50 & 60 Series Copper Sleeved

The Tip Reamer is a crucial tool used in the injector sleeve replacement process for GMC Diesel 50 & 60 Series Engines with copper sleeves. Specifically, this reamer is used to ream out the bottom end of the newly installed injector sleeve in preparation for cutting the injector seat. It is used with the reamer driver assembly (433-6474-40) and a guide bushing (433-6474-30).

The Tip Reamer is an essential tool for the proper replacement of injector sleeves in GMC Diesel 50 & 60 Series Engines that utilize copper sleeves. Following the removal of the old sleeve, the installation of the new sleeve, and the flaring of its smaller end, this reamer is used in the step of “PREPARING THE SLEEVE FOR CUTTING THE SEAT.”

The procedure involves using the reamer driver assembly (433-6474-40) to drive the Tip Reamer (429-6463-55) into the bottom end of the newly installed injector sleeve. This is done in conjunction with a guide bushing (433-6474-30), which ensures proper alignment and accurate reaming. The purpose of this step is to precisely machine the bottom of the injector sleeve, creating the correct surface and dimensions required for cutting the new injector seat.
