A significant feature of this installation tool is the integrated Pilot (427-6462-60). During the injector sleeve installation procedure:

1. The new injector sleeve is carefully placed over the Pilot (427-6462-60), which is located at the working end of the Sleeve Installation Tool.
2. The tool, with the sleeve positioned on the pilot, is then used to gently tap the sleeve into the injector hole within the engine casting. This process continues until the new sleeve is fully seated and bottoms out in the bore.
3. Once the sleeve is completely installed, the Pilot (427-6462-60) is designed to be removed from the end of the Installation Tool. This removal step is necessary to allow for the subsequent flaring of the installed injector sleeve.
