Radius Cutter Accessory Kit

This optional Radius Cutter Accessory Kit enhances the functionality of FG5000/FG10000 flywheel grinders. It enables the removal of the radius left by the grinding wheel on specific flywheel types, such as recessed or stepped designs. The kit includes a 1.5” boring bar, carbide tool, spacers, mounting plate, and set screw.

This optional Radius Cutter Accessory Kit is designed to significantly expand the versatility of your FG5000 or FG10000 series flywheel grinder. This kit provides the necessary components to accurately remove the slight radius that can be left by the grinding wheel, particularly when working on specialized flywheel designs such as recessed or stepped flywheels.

The Radius Cutter Assembly includes the following components:

• Boring Bar, 1.5” (38.1 mm) Dia.
• Boring Tool – Carbide
• Spacer, Power Column Washer (3)
• Mounting Plate
• Socket head Set Screw cup point 5/16” 18X.500

Operation and Considerations:

To achieve optimal results with the radius cutter, it is crucial to ensure the flywheel is accurately centered on the grinder table. Using a dial indicator may be necessary to achieve precise centering.

Unlike grinding operations, the use of coolant is not required when operating the radius cutter.

The radius cutter assembly needs to be carefully adjusted so that the cutting tip of the carbide tool is positioned directly over the center of the flywheel table. Additionally, the tool bar must be positioned to the correct cutting depth to achieve the desired radius removal.
