This guide bushing is a precision support component used in the injector seat re‑machining process on Volvo D13 and Mack MP8 cylinder heads.   1. Assemble the cutter, pilot, and bushing

    • Install the Counterbore Pilot (PN 416‑6158‑62) into the End Facing Counter Bore Cutter (PN 445‑6683‑30) and secure it with the set screw.
    • Slide this guide bushing over the cutter on the end that will enter the injector bore.
  2. Mount in the driving arbor

    • Insert the cutter—with pilot and bushing installed—into the Driving Arbor (PN 414‑6114‑10).
  3. Position in the injector bore

    • Place the assembly into the injector bore on the top side of the cylinder head.
    • The pilot centers the cutter in the bore, and the bushing provides added radial support along its length.
  4. Apply cutting fluid and machine the seat

    • Use EA Lube (PN 468‑9910‑08) to lubricate the cutter and bore.
    • With the support of the pilot and bushing, run the cutter at approximately 60–80 RPM to clean and re‑face the injector seat, removing only about 0.002”–0.005” of material.

The guide bushing helps keep the cutter running true, reducing chatter and uneven cutting, especially important when working in cast iron heads.
